Iraq's parliament started on Tuesday as Sunni's lawmaker's ended the boycott against the persecution of official's. Goverment official such as law maker's and goverment officials were not allowed to attend cabinent meeting's and the paraliment because of Sunni's Iraqiya bloc. The reason for the law was because of the vice president being accused of terrorism.Citizens werent happy of the law and started protesting, the protesting lead to 200 dead. Because of the boycott, the goverment went into crisis. The Iraq goverment then decided to take the paraliment ban away hopeing that this will help restore the goverment.
This is related to chapter 6 because this explains how the goverment excluded another part of the goverment. Just like how the king just made rules and started taxing the colonies without there approval. This evetualy lead to an uprising that caused the colonies to rebel and protest against the king. The fighting eventually lead to colonies having indipendant's against the king.
This relates to my life because I have seen people protest on tv for an important cause that involves the goverment. This way of life have been with our country for quite a while. Protesting against the king let the colonist's have indipendance just like we get to make a change.
I think that Iraq should secure there goverment better. If they were to check there officials they wouldnt have to deal with this ordeal. I do think that if they fix there goverment one piece at a time, then they will be able to restore their goverment.

Current event, The 13 colonies
Article Title:
World stocks jolted by North Korean leader's death
The death of King John made the European markets higher. This will have a huge affect on the world stock exchange. But its not just Europe that's improving, Germany rose 0.7 percent. Paris rose 0.2 percent and Britain rose 0.3 percent.
How does this relate to the colonies in the 1700's? People in the colonies relied on other parts of the world for trade and economic support. This trade is called the Colombian exchange. Just like the article if one part of the world changes, then the other parts of the world will be affected too.
This affects my life because I am part of the world. Anything that happens in the stock exchange will affect me because the stock exchange supports the whole worlds economy. If something goes wrong, then my "colony" will be affected. Just like if something goes wrong in the Colombian exchange, then the colonies would have dramatic changes whether good or bad.
In class we are learning about the settlement of the thirteen colonies and how it settled and how there government and economy developed. We also learned that the world has something called the Colombian exchange. Back then the world usually traded slaves, whine, art, and fabrics. Today we trade money, and as the stock exchange changes, just remember we are equally affected by the change.

War
Terrorist fired rockets on Thursday at site where more than 2,000 Afghan elders were having a national assembly to talk about the future of U.S. military being in Afghanistan, officials said. Both rockets missed the elders, but one man was injured.
This relates the article to what we are learning in a few ways. One way is when people from around the globe came to America, they fought Indians or helped Indians in war. Such as the U.S military is helping to get rid of terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq. We are also learning that the when the French came to America they helped the Huron Indians fight the Iroquois Indians. This example relates to the article because our military is helping another country against an enemy they both hate.
I can relate this article to my own life because I am an American citizen protected by a military. I have heard about wars from today or from the past on t.v and they all had a cause. War is something that us Americans have faced for as long as it was formed.
I fell that war is one of the most disastrous things on earth. It can also eventually end up destroying our planet. I understand that war has its reasons but war has to stop. War boils up more and more hatred that could rip us apart. So, what do I think of this article? I think that its good yet bad, the bad being that its war, the good being that its for a cause.

Pledge of alligience
The Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance was published by two school children in 1892. The magazine was called " The Youths Companion". It was created to celebrate the 400'th anniversary of Christopher Columbus. This article explains the significant words in the pledge. It also talks how American citizens don't see the significance and the importance in the pledge.
In class we are studying how our nation and government was formed. We are also learning about citizens rights and responsibilities. This pledge is connected to our learning because the pledge of allegiance is a sign that a citizen is committed to there country. This helps grow an even stronger bond between country and citizen.
We use the pledge for school everyday. Just think millions of kids a day are repeating the important pledge. But a lot of kids don't understand it and are just repeating it just because they are told. Well this blog is here to tell you that pledge is super important. Next time you do the pledge think of your country.
I my self thought that the Pledge of Allegiance was nothing but a phrase you say everyday. But after reading that article it really got me thinking about our great country. In the pledge it says "I pledge Allegiance" I thought that meant nothing but really it means a promise to be faithful and true. This blog explains The Pledge of Allegiance and its significances. I hope you learned something new because I shure did.

Legislative Branch

Wegmans recalls pine nuts
North County times
Turkish pine nuts sold in the east coast of Arizona have been linked to salmonella. It has caused 40 sick and two people to the hospital. They have recalled 5000 pounds of the nuts. It has been sold in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland. There has been no deaths.
How does this relate to what we are learning in class? We learned that the Executive branch is in charge of food safety. This article explains how 5,000 pounds of nuts have been recalled. We learned that some branches have different duties and responsibilities. Such as the executive and the nut recall.
I have heard about it a lot on t.v. Food recalling is very common, in fact in the past month we had a recall on cantaloupe because it carried a bad disease. That's why everyday for food we eat, we wash our food just to be on the safe side. I have never gotten sick from diseases from food or anyone I know. But it must stink, so its the Executive branches job to protect people like us from harmful foods.
I think the Executive has an important job of protecting us. Just imagine if they didn't recall food. People would be sick and dying. I think that the executive should catch these food crysises before someone dies from eating bad food. But I think we have a job too, we should wash our food and look after ourselves. So be safe people of America! And thank the executive for watching over our safety.

Amendment 2-4
Article#4
Amendment 2-4
Title: South Carolina sheriff urges women to carry guns
North County times
A south Carolina sheriff is urging women to carry a small pistol. The reason was for protection against the many wackos in the world. The suggestion was made after a court case for a man who was one of those wackos. The gun would be held in a fanny pack. The sheriff also askes women to stay in groups for there safety.
How does this relate to what we are learning in class? In class we are learning about citizen protection that is found in the preamble. But there is one right that grants this permission to carry a pistol. And that is the right to bear arms, we studied that right and it men's the right to carry a weapon for protection.
I have seen this before at my own home. Me and my mom were going on a walk and we decided to bring a big stick. This story is related to the right to bear arms by when me and my mom were carrying a stick it was for self protection, just like the women urged to carry a pistol.
I feel that this article is good, yet bad. The good part is that women can defend themselves against the wackos of the world. The bad news is that if a stranger carries a gun, that might cause problems. So what do you think about it? I think this is an idea that should be well thought over.

Amendment 1, right to assemble
Article#3
Amendment 1
Title: Tennessee protesters defy curfew 3rd time, no arrests
North county times
Anti-wall street protesters have for a third time gathered to chant against legislative plaza in Nashville, and no one was arrested. 75 protesters chanted "Who's plaza? Our plaza!" and danced to keep warm in the early morning. They have defied a curfew for the third time and was watched by police, but nobody was arrested.
How is this related to what we are learning? We studied amendment 1 which was The right to peacefully assemble and the right to petition. This is from the Bill of Rights which has the word rights in it so it obviously means rights obtained by the people. We learned in class that with a democratic society comes citizens rights to speak out against the government. This is in fact a nation for the people by the people.
I have seen this before on t.v in our country and in other country. In our country we have the right to speak out without getting shot. But other country who's government is either dictatorship or corrupt aren't so lucky when they are speaking out about a change they feel is needed. Luckily we have this thing called the Bill of Rights. Police do however have the right to stop a petition if it is getting to out of hand. And that is how it is related to our life.
I fell the first amendment has helped make our nation a more perfect union. Without it, just imagine the upset citizens would have and then, boom! a violent wave breaks out that the citizens were forced to keep in. But fortunately the Bill of Rights protects our rights to petition. All this will help our government form better because they are getting important opinions to change. This is just on piece of the great puzzle of the United States of America.
